Correcting and Preventing Wrongful Convictions in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Please Support the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project’s Important Work in 2013

2013 was MAIP’s most successful year to date – with four exonerations, no innocence organization obtained more exonerations than MAIP, even though we receive less than one percent of the funds that go to innocence work.  Unfortunately, 2013 was also a year in which we lost both federal funding and funding for an Equal Justice Works fellow.  We are lucky to have committed supporters that have allowed us to retain our staffing level, but those losses have left us struggling to fund the DNA testing, experts, document research, and investigative travel that have allowed us to thoroughly investigate and litigate our cases.   We therefore need your support so we can continue to obtain such incredible results for our clients.

The prestigious Catalogue for Philanthropy agrees that our results are impressive and that the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project is “one of the best” small nonprofits in the District of Columbia.  MAIP’s profile with the Catalogue can be visited here, and online donations can be made here through Network for Good.  Checks also can be sent to:
